Compassion…

Compassion… R U up 4 It?

Compassion starts with the understanding that all of physical life flows from a common Source energy. Call it life force, God, Creator, the Divine, the Universe (the name doesn’t really matter). This Source energy is pure positive, creative, loving energy. Each of us is a unique expression of this energy as it flows through us. Everyone’s spiritual core or inner self is made up of this positive energy.

When we are born, we take on an ego consciousness which supports our lives here in the physical world. The ego helps us survive and thus has a stronghold on our mental processing. Our ego helps us plan our day, such as how to find food, clothing, and shelter for ourselves. It is a good administrator, but was never meant to be in charge. Many people mistakenly think that their ego is their real self. Since ego consciousness is very limited in the functions it can perform, many people walk around with a very poor self image because of this mis-identification. They are afraid to look within because they sense lack there. The good news is that we are not our egos. “Enlightenment” is remembering that we are Source energy at our core.

All of life is made up of energy, including ourselves and the physical world around us. Our personal vibrations can be read by technological instruments, as well as, sensitive individuals. Since our core is pure positive energy, the way to raise our vibration is to shift our egoic thinking to a more positive or expansive perspective. We can use our emotions to inform us about our frequency relative to our spiritual center. If we are feeling good, then we are close to the set point of our spirit. If we are feeling negative emotions, then we are out-of-alignment with our spiritual truth. We all have the same Source energy flowing through us; consequently, there is a continuous spiritual call for each of us to be in alignment with our inner  loving, creative selves. It is not possible to be someone who is mean, self-righteous, and uncaring while being in alignment. Those are sure signs of disconnection from our core self.

Compassion comes into play when we are feeling out-of-alignment or when we encounter others who are mis-aligned. As we realized that we all are spiritual beings trying to manage our ego mindsets in the midst of the challenges of this physical life experience, we have the opportunity to be more kind to ourselves and others. Being gentle with ourselves is where true compassion begins. As we let ourselves off  the hook, then we are more likely to give others the benefit of the doubt in interactions, as well. No one knows the depths of the issues that someone is dealing with. Being gentle with ourselves allows us to be gentle with others.

SO the bottom line is… as we focus on maintaining our alignment with our inner spiritual core (our Source energy), we become more loving and compassionate with ourselves. In turn, we begin to naturally extend that love and compassion out to others.  This takes practice, but the benefits are worth the effort. Compassion allows us to enjoy our life experiences in cooperation with others and paves the road to a peaceful planet.
